Ecotourist Highlights in June and July
The wildflower season is starting!, particularly at Foxes Lair. Do the five walk trails to enjoy the greenhood orchids, hoveas, hakeas and dryandras, see birds, and get a glimpse of local kangaroos.
• There are several good bushwalks at this time of the year.
• For the fit, my favourite is the new Three Mesas walk at Candy Block- see the giant grass tree.
• Book a tour to see endangered marsupials at the Barna Mia Nocturnal Animal Sanctuary. Tours: Friday, and Saturday (except for public holidays
• Climb Yilliminning Rock
• Go on a numbat, echidna and bird spotting drive through Dryandra Woodland. ( Get a guide from Dryandra Country Visitor Centre)
•Go to Toolibin Lake to see waterbirds, learn about the lake and see Woolly Banksias at Toolibin Cemetery. You could go via Albert Facey House in Wickepin.
