Excellent birdwatching. Dogs on leash are welcome.

NEWMAN BLOCK
Located 24km south-west of Narrogin, this is a wonderful hiking, wildflower and bird watching place. The 8km road from Highbury to the reserve is gravel, and there are no facilities there. There a two excellent wildflower walks. The easy 1.5km Orchid walk is located near the entrance, and a narrow road that may have ruts and overhanging vegetation leads to a lovely spot for a picnic and the start of the Sandplain Walk. The 2.5 km grade3 walk is more of a challenge, but the occasional scramble over rock and breakaways is rewarded by uplifting views and interesting plants. There are no picnic areas, or other facilities, and camping is not permitted. Do not take pets as baits are laid in the reserve to protect the native wildlife from feral animals.
This is a great reserve for bushwalkers and cyclists who can experience the variation in the landscape and wildflowers via fire access tracks.

Harrismith reserve is a great spot for wildflower enthusiasts in spring. The trail and Toolibin Nature Reserve is a good day trip from Narrogin or Wickepin.

CANDY BLOCK
Located 19 km north of Narrogin, Candy Block is a Dryandra Woodland “satellite” block. The landscape is steeper and more varied then the main Dryandra Block, with some surprising areas and unusual wildflowers, and good bird watching. Gravel roads to the two walk trails are well maintained and suitable for small to medium sized vehicles. There are no picnic areas, or other facilities, and camping is not permitted. Do not take pets as baits are laid in the reserve to protect the native wildlife from feral animals. The 3.5km grade 3 Three Mesa Walk meanders over three separate laterite mesas via breakaways and valleys, with the woodland and associated wildflowers varying on each mesa and valley. This walk has some steep sections. The Kwongan Walk is an easy 1.5km walk through mainly sandy soils. The highlight is yellow sand kwongan scrub with a wealth of flowering shrubs that reach a peak around October. The country changes to sandy marri-parrot bush woodland with cowslip orchids and fragrant white Honey myrtle shrubs in spring.
